The premium Parisian fashion brand, Louis Vuitton, has now opened a pop up shop in one of New York’s streetwear hubs.
The streetwear industry has changed a lot in the last 5 years. Mentioning the idea of Louis Vuitton opening a store on NYC’s Rivington Street 5 years ago and people would have laughed. Luxury brands have usually stuck to places like the Upper East Side in Manhattan with Rivington Street home to traditional streetwear retailers and brands such as Bodega and ALIFE with Supreme New York a stones’ throw away on Bowery Street.
With the rise of designer streetwear the traditional streetwear lines have now changed ever since Supreme New York and Louis Vuitton dropped a collection of Monogram apparel and accessories in 2017. Streetwear enthusiasts have now become open to the idea of streetwear brands collaborating with luxury designer brands and with the arrival of OFF-WHITE’s head honcho, Virgil Abloh, to their menswear collections, there has never been a bigger streetwear connection for LV.
For July 2019, Louis Vuitton have now opened their very own pop up shop located at 100 Rivington Street in New York’s Lower East Side. Opening today the store is a wash with neon green from the exterior to the interior itself and will feature Abloh’s latest Fall/Winter 2019 LV menswear collection as well as a selection of Mongram goodies. The Louis Vuitton New York pop up shop will run until Sunday 21st July 2019.
