Bonhams London recently auctioned a collection of 126 Supreme skateboard decks which was bought by a Chinese bidder for a whopping £100,000.
Back in May we brought you the news that Sotheby’s were auctioning off Supreme accessories, another example of the ever growing streetwear resale market. Now another London born traditional auction house and establishment are getting in on the streetwear resale market…Bonhams. Bonhams was founded back in 1793 in London and now operates all over the world from Los Angeles to Hong Kong specialising in one of a kind auctions including fine wine, rare art, antiques and jewellery.
Go back 20 years and you certainly wouldn’t of expected to walk into a bidding room of classic box logos and Scarface collaboration graphics adorned over a collection of Supreme skateboard decks, but things have certainly changed a lot in recent years. Last week StockX also announced their resale platform was now worth whopping a $1 Billion and now another auction house is getting in on the resale action auctioning off a collection of 126 Supreme skateboard decks. The collection was sold to a Chinese bidder for £100,000 with the collection including an assortment of decks designs such as Supreme x Nan Goldwin, Supreme x Scarface, Supreme x NY Yankees and the sought after ‘Illegal Business Control America’ skateboard deck which was released back in 2018.
